Harry and team welcome you to The Old Ox Inn. Nestled in the picturesque Dorset countryside between Sturminster and Blandford Forum, the pub sits proudly in the heart of the village.
The Old Ox Inn is though more than just a pub: it's a vital community asset that binds our village together. For us in the cricket club, it's the heart and soul of Shillingstone. When we heard the news it was closing, a conversation quickly started about what we could do about it.
The re-opening of the pub would not have been possible without the kindness and help of so many people and I just want to say a heartfelt thank-you. People have all given help in different ways, some giving funds while others have shared their expertise and time. This generosity has overwhelmed us and filled us with confidence that we can be successful.
Finally, I just want to add that this is not our pub now – it's your pub. We hope you will enjoy the atmosphere we create, but you need to guide us along the way, giving us feedback and feeling free to share thoughts on how we can improve and develop the pub.

The pub will be rolling out a range of food options. We will be operating an in-house kitchen, and using some great local food vendors. Please call ahead to see what food we have on.
We are very lucky to have a great outdoor space for you to enjoy. Let's look forward to those long summer evenings in the garden.

Our food offering is evolving all the time, and whilst doing so, we would ask you to call ahead and ask what we have on before visiting.
We have already had Pizza nights, Burger nights, Caribbean Chicken and more. We are working on our menus as we speak, and look forward to feeding you very soon.
